Gladiatrix II: In the Shadows of Darkness - Week 3 Update

An apparition has been beckoning you. The crystals seem to lead the way.

Module Progress:
  • City of Nova's Cape is complete as well as all quests and encounters leading up to the city.
  • Currently building quests and missions centered around the city.

  • When the Nova's Cape area missions are complete then the module will be roughly 25% finished.
  • Things are moving at a good pace. My last module took so long to build because I was learning how to do all this at the same time. This module should be much quicker.

  1. Looking good! this may be from the screenshot lighting but Nova's cape seems to have a darker possibly seedier tone?

  2. Yep, you are exactly right. It's supposed to be a dark and seedy city compared to Waycross, which was supposed to be grand and legendary. Nice that you were able to pick up the atmosphere of the place from the pics.

  3. Nova's Cape is looking very nice. The ship's sails rising above the buildings, and the airship made the city scape picture look very good. Cannot wait to wander around the streets and explore.

Are you having armour/clothing looking different depending on where it's bought/found? eg the gladiator armour (if any is for sale) in Nova's Cape will look noticable different than the armour you got from Waycross's arena?

Nova may go in for showing more skin and leather straps in there gladiator style armours with only one arm armoured, maybe with brass instead of steal coloured metal?

  4. Thanks! I've been taking the community's advice on city building. Not too much wasted space and a lot of activity. I hope you all like this one. And yes, there will definitely be different armor and clothing choices in this module although she can start out wearing what she found in the last module. More skin you say? Wasn't she wearing a metal bikini in the arenas? ;) Then again, she will be going to some interesting places this time around so the attire could also get interesting.

  5. I'm glad to hear things are progressing at such a quick rate. Just don't burn yourself out. It'd suck if you suddenly found yourself absolutely sick of module building 80% in or something!

I like the look of the new city, looking good from the two screens. Glad to hear that you've used more space this time. I'm sure the city will be much more enjoyable to explore as a result.

  7. Godd news. But also please don't rush too much, and take whatever time can be necessary. I think we wouldn't mind to wait some more time if that means that the mod is as best as possible and you can polish and add more enhancements you could think of on the way.

Cheers, and up with the good work :)

  8. Thanks everyone! I'll definitely be giving the module the attention it deserves so it won't be rushed. It will take several months I'm sure, but it shouldn't take anywhere near the ten months it took me to build the last one. I had to learn how to script and make the module do what I wanted it to on the first one and that took a lot of extra time. I don't plan to burn out either. I really enjoy using my creative energies. I'm just surprised this many people still play NWN after ten years.
